All-Natural Hair Growth Products That Actually Work

When I first discovered I had cancer, so many thoughts flew through my mind and, as a woman, one thought that stuck like glue was hair loss. Hair growth was a beauty priority of mine before my diagnosis and as a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blogger, my hair is an important part of my brand and identity. I, and I’m sure many of you, cherish it as a part of your feminine armor. I scoured the internet and found that hair-saving remedies like chemo cold caps were ineffective for my specific type of chemo cocktail – but, definitely check them out and research to see if they will work for you! My stomach wrenched at the thought of loosing my luscious espresso locks, but when the time came to let them go, I was strangely calm and composed. It was liberating to buzz my head and transition to a low-maintenance lifestyle where I could roll out of bed and walk out the door within 5 minutes. Fellow cancer patients, I am telling you this is a BLESSING and you will learn to love it and rock it.

After months of treatment, I thought I was going to be forever bald, but it has now been a month and half since my last chemo session and I have seen some serious hair-growth action!! I have about a half-inch of seriously soft baby hair growing from my scalp like a chia pet and my eyebrows are coming in full force like Cara Delevigne. Although, I bow to nature for this glorious resurgence, I also thank a few of my all-natural beauty saviors:

1. Intelligent Nutrients Scalp & Strand Serum

I saw results with this serum within TWO FREAKING DAYS – no joke. I use a dime-size, 2-3 times per day and if you do the same, your hair will be growing like grass before you know it! This “magic serum” is infused with a high concentrated level of ajuga plant stem sells, saw palmetto to help promote healthy hair follicles and inhibit DHT (a hormone that increases hair loss), and pea sprout bioactive that helps grow a thicker mane. Lastly, there is caffeine included. The caffeine won’t amp you up like you’re daily cup of joe (you won’t need it because you will be so thrilled with the results!), but it will drive scalp and strand nourishment.

2. Organic Castor Oil

Castor oil isn’t new the beauty scene, but it sure is effective for head, eyebrow and eyelash growth. It has natural antibacterial and antigungal properties that dandruff, hair-loss and infection which helps increase circulation to the scalp to stimulate hair growth. It is also high in Vitamin E, Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids, and ricinoleic acid that aid to restore and accelerate keratin growth. I apply a quarter size to my scalp 1-2 per day and use squeeze onto a Q-tip to smooth across my eyebrows and edge of my eyelids. The texture is waxy and thick and also has a rubber-like smell, but the positive’s outweigh the negatives with this treatment!

3. Sun Potion He Shou Wu

If you are a Boundless regular, you know I am a huge advocate of Sun Potion’s medicinal mushrooms and herbal adaptogen powders. They are a quick and easy way to nourish and feed your body plant-based vitamins and minerals that originate from the earth. He Shou Wu is known as the anti-aging beauty tonic additive that enriches hair, skin and nails. It also has crazy good health benefits such as immune support, red blood cell growth and increased antioxidant activity.

4. Kopari Coconut Body Oil

A cure for all! I used coconut oil on my bald scalp as much as I could when on chemo, because it helped keep my head hydrated and silky smooth. Kopari’s spray is super user-friendly and 100% organic. I would say that if you’re looking for solely growth, castor oil is the way to go , however, a moisturized scalp prevents scaling which could halt scalp health and growth. In my opinion, a castor-coconut oil combo is the way to go. I also love Kopari because it is fast-absorbing and doesn’t leave a sticky residue like castor oil. I can visibly see a difference in the texture of my scalp after using it just a few days a week.
